World Programming Championship
BelHard is one of the sponsors of the 10th team competitions in programming among students from the Western region, which are the quarter-finals of the World Championship that will take place at the Belarusian State University (hereinafter referred to as BSU) on October 24-26.
The opening ceremony will be held on October 24 at 2:00 pm in Room 411 of the Main Building (Nezavisimosti Avenue – 4). The representatives of the Ministry of Education of our country, the BSU administration as well as IT companies will participate in this competition.
The main round will take place on October 24. The opening is at 9:00 am. The competitions will be held on the 4th floor of the BSU main building. The same day the competitions will be finished and the closing ceremony will take place in BSU Lyceum (Ulyanovskaya Str. 8) at 6:00 pm.
More than 30 teams from the leading educational institutions from Belarus, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will compete with each other. These are the countries which are part of the Western Region of the Team World Championship in Programming among students carried out by the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery). There are 3 members in each team. They have to solve from 5 to 12 tasks (the texts are in English). The round lasts 5 hours. A team has to work at one PC. It is allowed to use dictionaries and printed materials only.
The competition program consists of designing algorithms and programs in high-level languages. The winners of the quarter-finals are entitled to participate in the semi-finals of the World Championship in St.-Petersburg.
